The First

It is no accident that we are alive at this moment and time to experience America's first African-American President. History has been made. I am sure that many people including our ancestors never thought that this historical moment would happen any time soon. Barack Obama has shown people of all races and nationalities that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to. It is great to read about other great leaders who changed the face of America, but how does it feel to experience and live in the moment of greatness and achievement? What does having an African-American President, who broke across all racial lines, mean to you?
What are some things that you hope to achieve? What has Barack Obama inspired you to reach for. I want you to tell us about your dreams...the really big ones! The ones that people have told you would never come true. Also, I would like to know what things might stand in your way of accomplishing those dreams.

President Obama has become an very inspiring role to many of us due to the things he has done for our country. It shows that there is an possiblity for anything to happen which gives most of us confidence. Some goals I wish to achieve would be to pass through high-school make to a good college and live a sucessful life. I also would want to have a career in football.

James, I think that it is awesome that you equate a successful life with a good education. President Barack Obama would not be where he is today if it was not for his education. You have the charisma that the president has, now you must focus on acquiring the intelligence of our leader. School is what you make it, so get everything that you can from the learning experience. Aim big!!!

Well Venson, I must say that being an NBA player is the dream of many young boys. I would like for you to add this to your dream though...a great education. As you know, the players are currently in a lockout, which means that they are not getting paid. I wonder how many players can rely on their education to make money for themselves while an agreement is being reached. How many were smart enough to invest or save money for this situation? Ball money can be taken away at anytime, but a good education can never me taken from you.

I think having an African American president is great; however,he is having a difficult time accomplishing tasks. This is because he is Domocratic, and Congress is full of Republicans. Although he has the right to make an executive order, he can not used that each time he is trying to make something happen, only in emergencies.

I think having a African American President is great. To tell you the truth I do not know why people dislike him so much. I really think our world has become a wonderful place as soon as he became president. The reason why I say that is because he led troops to kill Osama Bin Laden, and that would have probably been achieved later on throughout the years but Obama was not going to have that. Its only the best for his country.

Melanie, I agree that President Obama is doing the best that he can with our country. However, you still did not mention what his success is going to inspire YOU to do!!!

DeLlexxus, you made some excellent points!! I can tell that you are staying connected with what is going on with our world. No matter who is president, there will always be division. That is why I pray and ask God to lead and guide them (politicians/leaders) all.
